Open Non-Project File in Editor - How to change file type/mode 关注
When opening a file external to the Project and Intellij incorrectly deterimine the file type, how does a person change it to the correct file type to edit.

File > Settings > Editor > File Types
Sorry, but I don't see that menu heirarchy?

This was a path inside Setttings dialog.
To access any setting quickly, call Find Action (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+A) and type what you need, e.g. "file types". Then select "File Types" from the list and jump directly to the proper page of Settings dialog.
