Thanks for pointing it out. "Files in Previous Search Result" accomplishes the same thing just non-interactively. Some number of IDEA versions back I remember being able to do Ctrl-F in the FinP search results pane and to interactively search in the pane itself. The old searching within results was in certain cases more convenient to me as you could quickly & interactively search and search again for different things. It would be great to have both the dialog-based re-search and the interactive re-search not only for different preferences and workflows but also because they work well together. For example, once you've done multiple interactive sub-searches to drill into & discover what you really want, then you use "Files in Previous Search Result" for the final results. If there is any interest in the interactive FinP pane searching, I'd be glad to file a Maia feature request.
I see"Files in Previous Search Result" choice in Scope section of Find in Path dialog. Maybe this helps.

I can't predict, will such feature be implemented or not, but in my opinion, it has some sense. So, JIRA issue would be Ok.
