ClearCase Remote Client

Hello Kelly,

I was just wondering what the plan is for supporting Clearcase Remote
Client as another VCS? I see there is an issue in Jira for it
(http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEA-14670, but is there a plan
for which release it might end up in?

So far we don't have any plans to support it in IDEA 9.

I'm hoping you'll reconsider. Clearcase Remote Client is getting increasingly popular for its low bandwidth requirements in distributed clearcase environments.

Our team is switching to Clearcase Remote Client and as it is, that will mean:
- Replace TeamCity with Cruise Control
- Use Eclipse for VCS access and refactorings, IDEA for coding (though perhaps we won't upgrade to the next IDEA version if it doesn't support CCRC)

Right now I can tell you for sure that we do not have the resources to implement
CCRC support before the IDEA 9 release. Maybe in IDEA 10.

I'd also like to request this be added. As it's available in Eclipse, and my current project requires its use, I fiond myself doing more work in Eclipse than I'd like.

I usually check out / hijack in Eclipse, then code in IDEA, but that's a real pain.

As a general suggestion, it would be nice if there was a way to automatically port an Eclipse plug-in to an IDEA plug-in. Maybe that's a pipe dream, but it would be nice. :-)

I also would like to make a request for this be implemetned in IDEA 10. Then IDEA would be a perfect IDE for me because using dynamic view with IDEA is too slow.

I'm on version 13.0.1 and still no support for this.
"Develop with pleasure" is becoming develop with pain.
