How to open idea from the command line like we do in RubyMine?

I would like to know, how to open IntelliJIdea from the command line like we do in RubyMine(see below)?
Considering that the underlying opened directory is from a previous IntelliJIdea project which I have been working. So I would expected that IntelliJIdea would be opened with that project, but instead of that it persists opening in the starting project Dialog. So is that possible? I have just bought the last version.
