IDEA 7 and JDK 6 ?
I'd like to know if IDEA supports jdk 6.
I'm aware of the blog ( http://blogs.jetbrains.com/idea/2006/08/running-mustang/ ) but it seems that the support was somewhat experimental.
Has the support improved?
BTW, I've been surprised to see that IDEA 7 M1b still runs on 1.5.

Hello ImJames,
We are not aware of any problems with running either IDEA 6 or IDEA 7 under
Java 1.6. Distributed builds of IDEA will bundle JDK 1.5 until a final release
of JDK 6 for Mac is made available by Apple.

Thank you.
Are you sure that Mac OS X 10.5 will ship with Java 6? What will happen if it doesn't? Will you stay with 1.5?
Hello ImJames,
We don't have any inside information on Apple's plans to release JDK 6. If,
for some reason, Apple will decide to never release JDK 6 for MacOS X, I
think that we'll eventually migrate to JDK 6 on Windows/Unix and stay with
JDK 5 on Mac.

There absolutely are issues running Selena under the current Apple JDK1.6 beta, mostly horrible scrolling and weird double-buffering effects. I literally just tried it yesterday and was forced to go back to 1.5. If anyone knows of any workarounds, I'd love to hear them.

I experience slow/choppy scrolling on Java6/Win32 as well.
These are Apple JDK issues. Unfortunately, it's too outdated.
Apple's profits have been skyrocketing, and they have plenty of excess cash, yet their java devloper page is still listing JDK 6 beta 88 ?!?! That's almost a year old! My only conclusion is that the mgmt has decided Java is completely unimportant to them, and they have shifted all resources to Mac OSX, ITunes, IPhone, etc.
They aren't even polite enough to come out and say "We don't want to support Java going forward." They just leave the website as is, and leave all java developers in the lurch.

I'm personally boycotting Apple on all future personal tech purchases.
It looks like I will be trying out parallels.
Under JDK 6, performance during scrolling is bad. Also in a large project pressin g Ctrl N or Ctrl Shift N is slow as well
