Surround With Live Template - doesn't work in macro?

I tried to create a macro and used "Surround With Live Template" - but when I played back the macro, the program brought up the surround with thingy but couldn't work it.

Is this a general limitation of macros (inability to handle popups) or is this specific to SWLT?
