Can't you please fix this annoying tab closing behaviour?

I agree. There seems to be some weird behavior. I also notice that
when I hit CTRL-E, the files do not appear to be the MRU order now. It
used to be so easy to edit a file, then edit another, then CTRL-E, enter
to get back to the last file.
