Why does IDEA default to Java 5 and how can i Change it?

Why does the IDEA 10 still use Java 5 as the default?

For historical reasons. I guess it's time to change that. :)

Also, is there a
way to make Java 6 the system wide default so that any new projects
automatically use Java 6? Thanks
