issues moved to JIRA: PLEASE include link to original tracker thread.

I noticed many moved issues have no link to the original tracker discussion.
Please, ALWAYS include it.

Is there a way to allow news readers like Thunderbird to access Jira?

Norris,

You can use RSS view of filters you are interested in.

What's the URL for JetBrain's JIRA? Or is it not open to public?

Thanks,
Gordon

Try http://www.jetbrains.net/jira
You'll probably will want to look into Confluence from time to time : http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/

Take the XML link URL from a search, and add os_user=xxx&os_password=xxx
to the URL

I'm trying this but TB just hangs there, verifying the
connection but it never completes. The URL I use, for
completeness is:
http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?view=rss&pid=10080&os_user=&os_password=]]>

Any ideas on why it's not succeeding?

Cheers,

try added &decorator=none to the end of the URL. That was the last part
I forgot.

Otherwise the way JIRA works the content gets wrapped with the standard
HTML decorator...

Mark,

Tried adding the decorator, but TB still is stuck at the
'verifying feed ...' stage, progress bar at 100% but
nothing happens. Opera, on the other hand, does not seem
to have this problem...

Is there any other setting in TB which one needs to set
to get this to work?

Cheers,

Bonny

Not sure to be honest - so far in my trials, Thunderbird has shown to
be, well, somewhat crappy when it comes to RSS. It works "most of the
time", but I've often seen it hang when adding feeds, also when you move
a folder it gets confused as a feed isn't tied directly with a folder.

Its a pity as it held great promise, hopefully it'll improve over time.

Hello Dmitry,

DK> correctly.

Omea Reader will show the messages if you specify your login and password
as described in this thread, with os_username and os_password.

It's a common problem of JIRA and Confluence - if you specify no credentials
or incorrect credentials in an RSS feed request, they return a valid empty
RSS feed instead of an error message (like "403 Forbidden").
