Find in file disabled ?

Hi all,

Whatever I have managed to do, the "find in file" functionality the simple find and replace has become disabled in intellij and I can't find how to re-enable it. You can't believe how frustrating it is to hit Ctrl+F and to get no results for text you can read in front of you.

The behaviour is strange, it will sometimes (of course not now while I try to reproduce it) search only comments in java. But in any other file nothing happens the results text box is always red no matter what I search for or options I change.

It seems like it's some preference setting because the behaviour has been brought into every upgrade. I'm now on the 94.192 release.
