Idea Server icon not showing in status bar (IDEA 9.0 build #93.13, Mac OS 10.5.8)

The IDEA server icon is not present in the status bar when I run IDEA 9 (93.13) on my Mac, and, for the life of me, I can't figure out any way to bring up the IDEA server connection dialog. (My Windows installation does not have this problem.) What could be causing this? Thanks.

Please install the IDEA Server plugin from the plugin manager.
