1117 Installation Hangs in win XP
tried installing it in c: the installation failed hanged when it was trying to install packagetree.html ..
quit the installer and tried again .. this time it failed while installing separator.html .. quit the installer cleaned up the installation manually and installed it d: it went very slow but it installed
any one else had this problem ??
am using winxp pro with 1gig ram in a p4 machine

I'm seeing this. The install hung on LvcsRevision.html. Also, install.exe is pegging my cpu, and there's a program called idea1117.exe running. If that helps.
By hardware is the same as the first poster.
I also had problem but the installer closed out but the installer.exe was
hung at 100% cpu usage (even though the installer finished gracefully) so I
couldn't delete the ideaXXX.exe installer until I ended that process..This
is the first build I've seen that. I am using XP as well.

Same here. I killed the install and the processes
and tried installing again...it worked the 2nd time.

I'm seeing this on win 2k. I'm able to cancel the install and try again. It hung on installing the jdk, and then on library.html.
Downloaded again, still failed (another html page).
It finally worked when I started the final install, and immediately put it in the background. Came back later and seemed fine (asked to open the read me).
Options:
Install prog in default (C:\IntelliJ-IDEA-1117)
Install cache/configs in user dir
Import from old (1113)
Create icons on desktop
Associate ipr with Intellij

Same problem here. I finally downloaded the zip and used that. Now, when I start build 1117, it doesn't find my license file so I had to enter the eap trial license even though I have a paid license.
Yup, this is broken for me as well, downloading the zip now.

Happened here as well (WinXPPro) in 1117 and 1120.

1120 hung for me as well.
I've found immediately putting the installer in the background after pressing the final Install button (on summary page) works. I come back after a while, and it's on the Open ReadMe page...

I had an odd thing occur with 1120 in that once the install was done and I was working in IDEa, I noticed my CPU was spiked at 100%...an install.exe was pegging it. And the only installer I had run was the IDEA one. How strange...maybe's it's an InstallAnywhere bug.

tried every bit of work around suggested .. it happens while it tries to install html files ..
would have been nice to get things going with RC1 but oh well off to download the zip file

I managed to install it on the seventh try or something by continously moving the mouse in circles over the installation window. I was thinking that maybe it got bored otherwise.
