Build question for multiple java modules

For the first time I'm working on a code base that needs to be split into several build modules. What I'm finding is that
the compile stops when a build module encounters an error rathing than continuing to compile all of the modules. There
are dependant modules so it makes sense to stop on the erroneous one but I'd like to have IJ attempt to build all modules.
Are there settings to control this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
