[Mac] Reformat Code option does not work

Hi,

I'm using a trial version of intellij at my new job, and I'm used to using it on a window (from a pervious job).   i've noticed that the "reformat code" option does not work for java files under the mac, there's no error message, no explanation as to why it doesn't work, just leaves the file untouched.   Any idea on where to start with this issue?  Thanks.
