all project files bundeled in jar or zip
hi,
yesterday i have had a idea for project-managment. please post your opinion about my idea. if the result is positive whe can post a idea-feature! here are my idea:
please bundle all project files(*.iml, *.ipr, *.iws) in a jar- or zip-file which has especially the name PROJECT_NAME.ipr! maybe you can create a directory structure in the jar-file and save all module-files in a special directory. this has the advantage that you maybe must not bundle the module-files in the irp- or iws-files! the main-feature of my idea is that you only have ONE file for a idea-project! when i create 15 modules in my project all the project-files for one project are very complex and when i want to separate my projects in the projects-directory i need a special directory for every project where i save my project files!
think about it!

This would cripple my project multi-user via CVS methodology. I know
others use it in a similar way (placing the ipr, and sometimes iml files
into CVS) - although not how many.
As the iws file contains window settings (positioning, floating settings
etc), that doesnt need to be shared - where as the module and plugin
configuration does.
If this was an optional feature (eg: using *.ijar or *.izip as the
nominated extension for example), it would give us the best of both worlds.

Please be aware that modules files may be shared between different projects and may not be clearly associated to a certain project at all.

how?
Not with the current UI, but with one of the next eap releases. This was announced several times in threads dealing with the new modules ui or the modules concept itself.
