XML validation

Hello, I experience a nasty problem when editing XML files. The XML files have to comply with the XML graphml schema definition (http://http://graphml.graphdrawing.org/specification.html). When I configure IDEA 6.0.5 to make use of the xsd files, I can successfully validate the XML files, but the the editor tags all XML-elements as errors. What can I do to get rid of these errors in the editor pane?
(Using a DTD is not an option for me). BTW: I experienced the same behavior with IDEA 5.x and IDEA 7M2.
