How do I have 2 different indentations in one file?

I have a file (.tpl) and I need two different indentations in one single file.

HTML in the file will have 2 spaces indentations and javascripts within the file will have 4 spaces indentations. Any idea on how this can be achieved?

Currently the platform doesn't support neither a mix of indentations in one line nor in one file. And it's not a small change to fix it. Like Michael correctly pointed out above it also affects the way how the editor should work using one indent in some places and another indent in other places. It's not capable of doing so at the moment.
