4.5 code complete speed
On Mac OSX, dual G4 400, I've never had a problem with the performance speeds of all the latest IDEA versions (including EAPs), but now finally it has happened. While a few things seems a little slower in general (editor scrolling), they are acceptable, but code completion is not. It has jumped from a few tenths of a second to open up after hitting ^Space (in 4.0.3) to > 5 seconds in 4.5. This is causing me all sorts of grief. :) I guess I get to learn how to type again. Anybody else notice this? Any setting I can turn off which changed this by an order of magnitude? I've tried reverting, but alas, the latest Apple java update rendered 4.0.3 unusable (as stated in the release notes, which I didn't believe until I tried it for myself).

2 things:
1- Did you update to the latest Java 1.4.2 Update 1?
2- If yes to #1, then go download 4.5.1 RC1 from the EAP, it's is MUCH
faster than previously seen.

Yes, that seemingly has things back to normal (the RC1), and yes, the 1.4.2 update 1 was installed - it prevented me from reverting to 4.0.3.

Actually, while almost all the auto-complete issues are fixed, some still aren't (4.5.1 RC I). So things like method auto-complete are fast, but any variable-name auto-complete is excruciatingly slow (unlike how it was in versions <= 4.0.3).
