Keyboard lag on 4.0.3
Hi.
I am visiting another office of our company, and some people are having a
problem that renders IJ 4.0.3 very hard and frustrating to use.
There is a very apparent keyboard lag on these people's machines that didn't
exist on 3.0.5. The most basic example for that is pressing the down arrow
on a long file, let it scroll a little and stop pressing. On my machine, the
scrolling stops immediately. On theirs, it continues for about 5 lines more.
The difference in their machines is that they work on Windows 2000 and not
Windows XP, but on 3.x they don't have this problem.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

No, it's a 4KB ZX Spectrum...
The computer is a P4, 512MB RAM.
On 3.x everything is fine, on 4.0.3 it is not. I have seen comparable
computers run fine on 4.0.3.

Don't you think it's normal that version 4 released in 2004 would be slower than version 3 released in 2002ish. More feature need more power. Buy more ram. ]]>

I don't think at this point that it is a computer problem. I will try 4.0.3
on a desktop with the same power as my computer (a P4 1.6 dell) which
doesn't experience the problem.

Yes, I also noticed that, I'm having this kind of problem from time to time. Restart of the IDEA helps.
It becomes laggish when the memory heap is above 150Mb and close to the upper limit (usually 190 and so).
AMD64/1Gb ram should be sufficient. May be some startup memory options tweaks for java will be helpful?
