Removing a project from CVS?

Hi all,

I'm still very new with using CVS and had setup a mercurial repository on BitBucket.  I managed to somehow screw it up and ended up with two heads that I couldn't figure out how to merge properly, so since I had a good backup of the current source code, I decided I wanted to just wipe the slate clean and start over.  I removed the project from bitbucket and removed the .hg folder from the project hierarchy, but when I attempted to upload I got an odd error about a revision identifier.  What else needs to be done to close down a repository?  I didn't see any options in PHPStorm to allow me to "stop" using CVS...  Any help would be greately appreciated!
