RSpec will run the entire suite, but not a single test on its own.

RubyMine 2016.1

I can run my entire test suite just fine.  However, I can't run a single test or a directory of tests (via the right-click menu).  The error I get: 

Spring was unable to find your config/application.rb file

I have tried a few things like restarting spring.  Making sure to stop spring in the terminal and a few other things.  I'm new to RubyMine and love it so far, but this is frustrating.  I just don't understand what's going on.
