PhpStorm + VMWare Fusion (Mac) + Ubuntu Meta key

I'm giving PhpStorm a shot on Ubuntu Desktop 14.04 in VMWare fusion (Mac) and cannot figure out what the Meta key is!  All the Command+ shortcuts on the Mac aren't working so far.  Any help is appreciated.

It should be "context menu" button on a keyboard. Doesn't it work?

Dmitry, thanks for the help.  I can't see that the context menu button is an option on the Mac keyboards.

Hi Martin,

What keymap do you set in the PhpStorm on Ubuntu? OS X?

Thing is that there is no Meta key either in Ubuntu or Windows. So Mac-styled keymaps won't work in Ubuntu or Windows and it does not matter if it is VM or an actual machine. Command key in VMware Fusion is being mapped to Windows key - https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1001675 - which is a completely different key and has completely different behavior when compared to Command key on Mac OS. For example, we cannot set the keymap to OS X style on Windows and use Windows key as a Command/Meta key listed in keymaps because this behavior is OS-related. So it is advised to use Default keymap or any other non-Mac styled.

Hi, Vladimir.

Yes, it's Mac OS X 10.5+

Thanks, Vladimir.  That will do the trick.  I switched to default keymap and it's not using the meta key.   Appreciate the help.

Sure, Martin!

I guess that if you will find a way of disabling the mapping of Command key into Windows key, it will allow you to use it with Mac OS keymap but this is just a wild guess.
