Severe Performance issues with 2024.2.3

I'm having some serious performance problems with Intellij 2024.2.3 that is making things unusable. I've captured some of the problems with the diagnostic tools. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of details because the problem thread is “unidentified”. But it appears to be down inside Kotlin.
Here are my screen grabs of the diagnostics:
I'm just letting it run to see if it'll just finish. But so far it's been running like this for hours maxing out the CPU. Any idea what's going on?

Not the original poster, but I'm having the same problem. Just opening plain Java files can take several minutes at times.

Please try to temporarily disable custom plugins (Preferences | Plugins | ⚙ | Disable all downloaded plugins). Will it help?

Could you please try to temporarily disable “Package Checker" plugin? Do you face this issue with every project?
I don't have this issue with every project, and in fact if I restart Intellij it seems to go away. Or if I close this specific project and re-open it will go away. So I haven't had much success in reproducing the issue on command. I do get this issue from time to time though where intellij just goes haywire and seems to keep scanning files in my project over and over.
