Is anyone successfull at installing Squirrel plugin for IntelliJ Community 2024.2.5 on Windows?

The plugin appears to be busted (several exceptions at IntelliJ startup) and support appears to be extinct. Maybe somebody has a workaround?

Last version of the plugin was released back in 2017.
The only workaround to make it work in IntelliJ is to install version 2017.2 of the IDE which is still compatible with the plugin.
Another solution would be to update the plugin source code so that it is compatible with the latest IDE versions. How to develop plugins in IDEA.
