PyCharm search window (CMD+SHIFT+F) opening off-screen

I sometimes use an external monitor and sometimes I don't.

When not using one, it happens that the search window opens partially off-screen so that I can't see what I'm typing into the search field, and the search is difficult/unusable  since I cannot see the whole window.

It should adjust to the current screen size and not “hard-code” remember its last position & size on the external monitor, which seems to be the reason of this behaviour.
