How to access Scientific Mode?
已回答
I've been using Pycharm CE for years and am trying out the Professional version in order to try out Scientific Mode in order to get better integrated plotting. Both Google and various AIs have all sorts of obviously wrong (out of date?) information about this. How do I do this in 2025? Do I need to create a special type of project to do this? If so, can I convert an existing project so I don't have to set up everything all over again? Why is SciView greyed out? Etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I can see the Plots and SciView tool window entries in the menu, but they are grayed out. Me too i do not find in this AI based answers anything that explains correctly how to activate, un-gray and use these tools.
A clean explanation would indeed help a lot.
Btw, I have this problem in the Ultimate IDEA 2024.3.5 and 2025.1 EAP version with a professional license.
Just to clarify - Scientific Mode option is deprecated, we opted to make all functionalities available by default on any Python Project on Professional versions for both PyCharm and IntelliJ IDEA
The Plots and Sciview are only enabled once you use them. Here is an example so you can run it:
