Cannot start using AI Assistant

I have IntelliJ IDEA 2024.3.4.1 Ultimate inkl. AI Assistant registered.
Trying to use AI Assistant shows the button “Start Using AI Assistant”.
Pressing this button does nothing, no error message, no nothing. 
Ergo AI Assistant is not usable.

My workstation is in a corporate network behind a proxy. The IDE itself including plugin could be installed and activated. I have admin access rights on my machine.

Is it possible to use AI Assistant behind a proxy?

It is up to what the proxy really does under the hood, like any allow/deny policies? It is also worth checking the idea.log( Help | Show Log in ...) to see what the AI assistant is complaining about.
