Project re-imports and momentarily disappears from project drawer on window focus

Every time I re-focus an Intellij window, the project re-imports and momentarily disappears, resetting all the open folders and open files. Is this a bug or a setting that needs adjusting?

The issue sounds strange. If the issue is reproducible after below actions taken, is it possible for you to share a short video to demonstrate it and the zipped log folder? You may upload them to https://uploads.jetbrains.com/ and let us know the upload ID.

1. File > Invalidate Caches / Restart... > Invalidate and Restart
2. File | Repair IDE
3. Delete *.iml file under .idea folder
