Unable to get response from Junie (pressing enter with any question does nothing) 2025.2.1 EJ Release 116 Mac OS Arm
Junie installs and presents a Task/Question box and the rotating preselected questions works. Asking any question or using preselected questions causes nothing to happen. No spinning cursor nothing. All tabs work, the ASK, Code, Brave Mode + all work.
i have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin and restarted the IDE – no change. The AI Agent chat box works.
I am on a Mac with M1 chips (ARM) here is the info from About :

Could you please provide us with screencast of the issue? Could you also provide us logs through Help -> Collect Junie Logs option? You can upload it to https://uploads.jetbrains.com/ and share the ID of upload with us.

i have same issue, but in ai assistant. Type text in text window, press enter, and nothing happends. Text from text windows is disappears and that's all.
Tried to restart phpstorm, reinstall plugin, downgrade phptostorm to RC candidate. nothing helps :(
p.s. junie plugin works fine
p.p.s. using "AI Actions → explain code" works fine
Bartosz Bak Zaartix : I’m experiencing exactly the same issue as you described, but in IntelliJ Ultimate Edition. When I type text into the chat window and press Enter, nothing happens — the text simply disappears. Just like in your case, when I use the AI actions via right-click (e.g. “Explain Code”), everything works as expected. I’ve already tried reinstalling the plugin, but that didn’t resolve the issue.
(Note, I have a demo video, but cannot upload)
Enabling the MCP Server plugin solved the issue for me.

I can write questions press enter and nothing. .. The ASK Junie to: banner rotates so the component is not frozen.
My MCP server was already enabled. However I do not have php on my Mac .. going to install to see if that has any affect as it is noted in the editor as ‘not installed.’

it seems that your issue may be connected to message displayed on the top of your Junie window - “PHP interpreter is not configured”. To deal with it - please configure PHP interpreter through “Configure” button and try to use Junie again.
