Very annoying: color of stripe (gutter)

Problem:
The gutter color blends with the code color and is completely distracting.
Question:
How can I change the color of this annoying bar or hide it?
Note:
I searched the VCS color scheme, but there's no definition for the pull request status.
*Please refrain from advising me to "Close the pull request"; that's not possible in my case.

The gutter line is coming from the Review Mode feature of the GitHub plugin. Unfortunately, it is not possible to customize the color of the review mode gutter highlighting. We have an issue reported about the color on our issue tracker: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IJPL-194092. Feel free to vote for it and follow for progress updates.
As a workaround, you can disable the highlighting by disabling the review mode. The option should be available in the upper right corner of the editor window:
