Rider getting worster and worster

已回答

I have been using Rider for several years. However, I am increasingly switching to Visual Studio. Rider used to be extremely fast, but that is no longer the case. Some search functions often do not work at all.It can no longer handle complex projects and compiles the files in the wrong order.
Compiling also takes much longer than in Visual Studio. Jetbrains should stick to it's roots and stop messing around with AI.

Hello Michael,

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns—we truly value your experience as a long-time Rider user.

This isn’t the experience we aim to deliver. To thoroughly investigate these issues, could you please report them in detail on our issue tracker? This ensures your feedback is directly reviewed by our development team and tracked for resolution. If possible, including specific examples or project details would be extremely helpful.

I’ll also internally escalate your feedback to our development team. Thanks again for your feedback.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom there a so many points in Rider:

  • Hot reload is not supported for WPF
  • Compiles slower than the incremental build of VS
  • Often hungs when refactor something. Resharper don't do that
  • Don't find code in XAML or project files
  • Rider still start the application in the bin folder of the Application even whenn you define another ouput path.
  • Is takes several minutes if you open a solution with 157 project files before you can do anything with Rider
  • Sometime the keyboard sortcuts don't work anymore I have to restart the application
  • Unit test don't work any longer (Send this as but to the support)
  • The Jetberains open AI is not so good as CoPilot

Greetings Michael

Hello Michael,

I appreciate your feedback. Regarding hot reload in WPF, it's tracked under RIDER-26302 Support Hot Reload (aka Edit & Continue) for WPF and UWP projects

Recently, our development team has re-evaluated it and will discuss the implementation in the planning session for the next development iteration.

I will convey your feedback to the proper teams. In the meanwhile, if you have specific YouTrack links for those issues, please let me know. I'm glad to follow up with individual developers about the current status.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Thanks,

Tom
