MacOS | Webstorm unresponsive - but *not* high on CPU

I'm on webstorm version 2025.2.4 , using it on MacOS.

4 times a day the UI freezes up, doesn't respond anymore.
No matter where I click, nothing seems to happen.

It is

 - not high on CPU
 - not low on memory

It's more like a re-rendering thing.
It stops responding to my clicks or to my keyboard, and I can't even resize the windows.
Also, I cannot quit the application, so I have to force-kill it from the terminal.

And it happens at random times,
e.g. halfway searching files,
e.g. halfway writing code,
e.g. when I try to switch to a different project
e.g. when switching between screens
and of course during business meetings, while I'm giving demos to ~20 developers.

But it's been going on for about a week now,
can't exactly remember when I upgraded.

But that's like 20 interruptions of work, in a week.
I hope you guys are already aware of this issue,
but I couldn't find anything similar being reported.

So, I guess I'll have to downgrade a couple of versions.

Would it be possible to collect the log files and share them in a new youtrack ticket (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/WEB) as the initial troubleshooting step?
These can be collected with the Help > Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data menu action.
