It is getting buggier and buggier
Anyone noticed that for the past 4+ months or so EAPs were getting very buggy in core area of code parsing, highlighting etc. I have been auto-reporting dozens of IDE exception a day and submitted a handful of tickets that were never really investigated (so I gave up)
I've been using IDEA since v 1.0 and been on EAP ever since it started and it was solid for 99% of the time - never had to switch to production build. Now it is buggy and getting more so. I delete all caches/indices etc, I disable all plugins I do not use etc
I think production releases are getting rather buggy too. Not a few things reported took forever to resolve and big community involvement commenting on tickets (remember Run Maven Build button saga?)
I wonder if it is AI code generation transition or some other changes in the company but
I would hate my favorite tools company going down the drain. AI handling is also lacking for such a brilliant company as JetBrains. It is a crossroads where not established companies can piggyback on basic free IDEs and successful agentic AI and eat into JetBrains pie a big time. Not a time for complacency. Cost of JetBrains AI is huge. Without even junie or claude code integration just with prompt I yesterday spent ~$5 in couple of hours just using chat to research/implement some sparse embeddings logic. I could see my balance going down with every post. Maybe it is the true cost and big companies subsidize their tooling to win market share but JB needs to be head and shoulders above the competition for this price
Sorry for the long rant
