Just upgraded to PyCharm 2025.3.1 and AI is back with a vengence.
How do I completely remove/uninstall ALL AI functionality from PyCharm?
I don't want it, I don't need it, I find it counterproductive.
Apparently it's changed in the latest version, parts are no longer uninstallable, and previously disabled portions are re-enabled on upgrade.
The help and “Help AI bot” point to settings and plugins that no longer exist in their instructions to disable AI.
Please STOP bundling/enabling/re-enabling/hiding AI in PyCharm and the rest of the JetBrains AI.

Hey Richard, AI assistant plugin should not be enabled by default on a fresh installation, nonetheless here are the steps to disable AI Assistant and its features – https://www.jetbrains.com/help/ai-assistant/disable-ai-assistant.html#completely-disable-ai-assistant
You can also remove the plugin completely.
You can also disable cloud completion manually at Settings | Editor | General | Inline Completion
If you still see some specific features that you want to disable, please let me know

I'm not using the new UI so there's no JetBrains AI widget (step 1 on the linked page). Searching for “AI Assistant” in Settings doesn't return anything. In fact searching for “AI” doesn't return anything in the Plugins section of the Settings dialog.
I have found and manually disabled the; “Full Line Code Completion”, “Machine Learning Code Completion", “Machine Learning in Search Everywhere”, “AI Playground”. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be an option to completely uninstall these unwanted plugins.
I have no assurance that there aren't additional instances of AI functionality still lurking in this application.
The referenced setting Settings | Editor | General | Inline Completion is completely blank.
Why has JetBrains made it so difficult to remove this unwanted AI functionality from their IDE?
Please provide the steps to completely remove AI functionality from this IDE and ideally keep it from being automatically reinstalled in the future.

If you don't have the JetBrains AI Assistant plugin + Junie enabled at Settings | Plugins and also disabling the mentioned features, that should be enough. Most plugins you mentioned are bundled by default.
Are there any other specific features that you don't want to see? If so, share a screenshot.
I would like these features uninstalled.
I would like them to not be installed by default.
I would like them to not reinstall themselves whenever I upgrade.
JetBrains has apparently chosen to not put all of the unwanted AI related fetures in the same location, nor made trhem easy to discover/remove.
Can you please rectify this situation?
