Option to hide the open file name from the project tab (merged window view)?

I keep multiple projects open in the same window using merged window view (MacOS), but the project tabs display both the project name AND the currently open file name, making it quite long and cluttered. 

Is there an option to hide the currently open file name, so each tab only displays the project name?
