Fonts and clipboard encoding broken/lost config

Yet again, after putting off the dreaded update, I think “It'll be fine this time”

Yet again I've lost an hour so far and today's targets will be missed.

Ubuntu. Emojis no longer rendering, that was an easy-ish one. Just set the backup font to Noto Color.

Also a clipboard encoding issue??? When I copy and paste txt with emojis, as I do daily, it just comes out with question marks. Got CoPilot Claude on the case as I wouldn't have a clue where to start. We're on about 4 restarts of the ide with cache invalidation. It can't read anything after restart, so I have it creating a notes file so it can undo any of it's config.
