Hanging

Pycharm hangs, because, it decided voluntarily to index files / do whatever background work like delivering binary modules
it hangs, nothing works, sometimes it just crashes, thing is, this is  the behavior i observed in many Pycharm versions before this one
Why can't it fucking limit the memory consumption/workers count?
Maybe assess the resources abundance and allocate  accordingly?
Register handlers to enable responsivity?
ASK before doing something?
Suggest to increase memory?
Why can't you fix it? this seems to be BASIC

Hello, Tsvisab ,

Please check if the issue is still present in the latest PyCharm version. You can use the Toolbox App to install and manage multiple instances (versions) of any JetBrains IDE independently.

Also, would it help to exclude the affected directories from indexing?

If it does not help, please create YouTrack ticket and attach a log archive, which can be found under Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data.
