PyCharm completely freezes on macOS when switching windows or opening tool windows
Hello,
I am experiencing severe freezing issues with PyCharm on my Mac. The IDE completely hangs and becomes completely unresponsive. The only way to recover is to hard close the application using Force Quit (Option + Cmd + Esc).
This issue happens several times a day and completely breaks my workflow. It usually triggers in the following scenarios:
- When I quickly switch between different windows or tabs.
- When interacting with or opening specific tool windows (for example, the Docker tool window).
Once the freeze happens, the UI just locks up and never unfreezes.

Please, check if the issue is observed in the latest PyCharm version. Also, please try to disable all nod-bundled plugins (Settings | Plugins | click the cog icon | Disable All Downloaded Plugins).
If it does not help, create YouTrack ticket and attach the log archive, which can be found under Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data.
