Issues with Persistence Mapping in latest EAP

1. The 'Use legacy introspector' is gone from the Datasource Schema Options tab so I am unable to get around the

Basic' attribute type should not be 'Object error , Whatever the JDBC metadata option doesn't work

2. I have existing Entity classes there is no clear way to make IntelliJ recognize the mappings even after assigning the datasource, why the heck can't you just give the damn thing a package and it scan that package for Entity classes and look at what tablename/schema it is mapped to?

All the years I have used IntelliJ this has to be the most frustrating thing about it, I have had so many issues with it over the releases it has really gotten the point where I'm going to just say the hell with it and do without or try to find something else to fill the gap. Even the times when I have had this feature work, it is still convoluted in the process to get it setup.

So here is my question then, how do I, using the latest EAP

IntelliJ IDEA 2018.2 EAP (Ultimate Edition)
Build #IU-182.2949.4, built on June 5, 2018
IntelliJ IDEA EAP User
Expiration date: July 5, 2018
JRE: 1.8.0_162-b12 amd64
JVM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM by Oracle Corporation
Linux 4.15.0-23-generic

make it take my existing entities (not generating new ones) and map them to my assigned datasource ??
