Passwords not saving in native keychain

I am on kubuntu 17.10.1, using kwallet as the native keychain. I am using the git status plugin and every time it fetches, I am asked for my ssh password. I can confirm that my ssh-agent is running and stores the password for the key, so why isn't RubyMine able to store the password itself or use the already added/running ssh-agent?

I have the same problem using kubuntu.
also on webstorm and intelliJ.
i've just installed lxqt and it seems to install gnome keyring, after that i get the prompt to store on gnome keyring and it works. but i'd really like if it could use kwallet.
