Unable to connect to PostGreSQL on Mac

I'm just starting out with Datagrip (2017.3.7) and I'm unable to connect to Postgres at localhost:
I tried changing vmoptions as the solution listed here but that doesn't work either. I'm unable to connect to MySQL either.
Is this a known issue?

Is there anything in user/password fields?
Yes, I also tried with username and password fields I just created.
How do you make sure that instance is actually working?
Shouldn't the test connection be successful? The same connection error comes when I try to run a query...
Sorry, it turned out that I was using a wrong username / password combination. Thanks for the help!
