Setting up PHP project for App Engine

pTrying to setup IntelliJ so I can work on my existing wordpress for App Engine projects (PHP).

The pages has a note: "The described functionality is handled by the Google App Engine Support for PHPplugin. The plugin is no longer maintained and is incompatible with IntelliJ IDEA 2018.1 and later."

What does this mean if I want to run PHP for App Engine projects locally with Google Cloud SDK?
