Upsource Gitlab comments not get attached to MR

已回答

Been trying UpSource. Managed to figure out how to set it to sync with Gitlab. BTW setup is different that Github so there's no OAuth token for *reading from the repository*, I wonder if we can make this more obvious, as it wasn't intuitive at first.

Anyhow, now I can start playing with reviews, but on my IDE any comments I add to a specific file do not get synced to Gitlab, is this by design? If so, it's really unfortunate as I can't see how this would be useful.

General comments do get synced BTW. Running latest IntelliJ and UpSource 2017.3.

Please clarify. As I understand, you use IDE with Upsoirce integration plugin, so the comments should get synced from IDE to Upsourse, and then from Upsource to GitLab. Is that correct?

Do comments appear correctly in the Upsource?

Yes, comments do appear in UpSource. However, when I make a comment to a particular line within a file, these do not sync to Gitlab. Does that make sense?

Ok, so the issue appears to be with Upsource not syncing to GitLab properly. I'll ask someone from Upsource team to comment on this.

Hi Adrian,

Are those comments (that weren't synched to GitLab) were left on a code that is a subject of change in the merge request?

Yes, I opened a Diff View right from the review panel, and then added the comment inside the Diff View.

Thank you for the clarification. It's a known limitation of Upsource/GitLab sync. Only general comments that are left in the review section are synchronized to GitLab. It comes from the GtiLab API limitation.

Well, I think UpSource's real value of an integration with Gitlab would be exactly what I'm asking for. It's there any way we can make this happen? I know Gitlab is OSS so. Or maybe their team would want to help. There's no point to use the integration (or the web UI for what matters) if they don't get reflected back in the UI my team (at least) visits the most and has setup for (like Slack).

Is there any progress in this matter?

I was trying a few times to sync my comments as well, and no luck. My team is creating a Merge Request in Gitlab, and I can see it in Upsource. When I reviewing the MR in Upsource I can make any comments, but neither of this comments are actually synced with Gitlab, so my team which is working through web interface of Gitlab CANT see my comments made in Upsource.

Regards.

According to this GitLab issue, GitLab 10.8 has MR diff comments API. Any plans on GitLab integration improvements?

Thanks.

These are questions for Upsource.

Please submit a request to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/UP or use https://upsource-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/

Does anyone have experience regarding the synchronization of comments between Upsource and Bitbucket?

I'm currently evaluating the use of Upsource in our company. We're facing a similar problem with Bitbucket. Comments from Bitbucket are not displayed in UpSource and vice-versa. This would be a major disadvantage for us, and unfortunately make the use of Upsource in our company less likely...
