Cannot change font size of the project window

It does not help. The Idea version I'm using:

IntelliJ IDEA 2018.1.4 (Community Edition) Build #IC-181.5087.20, built on May 17, 2018 JRE: 1.8.0_152-release-1136-b39 x86_64 JVM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o macOS 10.13.4

The same problem for me, too.

I have WebStorm 2018.1.4. 

Although, we are able to set the font-size of the code editor, we are not able to set the font-size of texts (folder or file names, etc. ) in the project window. And the default font-size which is bigger than font-size of editor seems annoying.

Intellij Ultimate 2018.2 has same issue. Appearance & Behavior -> Appearance -> Override default fonts by ...

When I select a larger/smaller font everything changes EXCEPT FOR the font size for filenames in Project view. The only thing I want to change is the project view font size (not for the menus or anything like that, specifically for all the things inside of Project or Structure etc)

Is there a bug raised already for this?

Please check that you don't have "bigger.font.in.project.view" registry value set to "true".

For Webstorm 2018.2.5 font in Project view changes only after restart. In all other places it changes instantly.

Not sure if this exists in older Jetbrains products, but in IDEA 2019.1.3, go to Preferences > Appearances & Behavior > Appearance > Use custom font. Just up the font size and that will increase the font of the actual application, not the code editor.

@... 's comment was exact for me.

Editor and Terminal font setting is on Preference > Editor > Font, 

and Project View font setting is on Preference > Appearnce > Use custom font -> Size.

I don't think this menu location is proper, but thanks for exising ^^;

intellij ultimate 2022.2.1 editor and terminal is affected but project view and menus are not by either setting in Editor or Appearance

Apomarinov What is your OS? Did you try to restart IDEA?

Please attach a screenshot of the IDE window demonstrating the issue.

I just had a similar issue that was being resolved within this thread https://twitter.com/kuncevic/status/1587693115208781825 the font options a bit confusing there within the settings 😿
