(AppCode) Now that Xcode 9.4 is out...

Is it safe to ignore the warning about Xcode 9,4 is not supported. If that is a problem, when will AppCode officially support Xcode 9.4?

Hi! We're checking AppCode with Xcode 9.4 right now to reveal possible regressions.
Known issues are:
- no simulators available for a target with iOS Deployment Target set to 11.4 in AppCode 2018.1.4
- multiple simulator runtimes all have version 11.4 in AppCode 2018.2 EAP
If there is no critical regressions, Xcode 9.4 will be supported in the nearest AppCode 2018.2 EAP and in one of upcoming 2018.1.x updates.
Seriously, AppCode! The xcode 9.4 golden master has been around for some time now.
Its just an annoyance to always check, if AppCode supports the most recent (officially released !!!) Xcode version, before upgrading to the new xcode.
Guys,
We've just published 2018.1.5 EAP and 2018.2 EAP with Xcode 9.4 support.
Hi Tatiana,
That is awesome! So now I guess we have to deal with Xcode 10 support! Any plans for supporting that?
Hi,
Please see the answer here.
So how long until 9.4 is officially supported (not in EAP builds)?
Łukasz,
2018.1.5 update will be published in a couple of weeks.
Weeks? :) Have I accidentally posted that on Xamarin forums? :) Can't you get your releases in sync with XCode releases that your software relies on? It's not like they don't make betas available long before the official release...
Łukasz,
We do test Xcode betas that come out and fix the issues as soon as they arise but, we cannot be 100% sure Xcode developers do not change smth the last moment (i.e. in official release), so we cannot remove the "unsupported Xcode" warning before we actually test the release. That takes some time. Of course, that doesn't take weeks, but we have our reasons for publishing EAP instead of update (in case with 2018.1.5) because the branch contains not only the Xcode 9.4 fixes but also other changes that might be risky and which we would like to EAP for a while before having an update.
Since 2018.1.5 EAP can be installed side by side with 2018.1.4 version, I don't see a problem in using it in case you have migrated to Xcode 9.4 already and its support is crucial to you.
Please, you need to understand you're asking me to install and "try" an unstable (by definition) version, because you don't want risk making the release less stable. It's Catch-22 at it's finest! :)
And I really understand your point, but you can't make people use outdated versions or unstable builds like that for over 5 weeks, come on. Even Xamarin can handles things like that in a few days at most and they really are not the greatest guys out there in handling anything.
I actually appreciate how hard the AppCode folks work trying to support us developers and make available the EAPs that they do. They will always be behind Apple by definition since Apple constantly changes things. I would never want to release a GM version of my software until it was completely tested. Thanks AppCode!
I am also OK with JetBrain's release cycle. It's a complex stuff, we are all developers, we should know, we don't want to release something as "final" and then blow up on our face and our own forums or social media trolled with a full of negative pub from our competitors. Their beta has been rather stable so if you need to use it, and help them (and us) out with any bugs you sill find.
