Macbook Stops repsonding
Im using a new macbook Pro 2017 and phpstorm keeps crashing and not responding and causes my computer to freeze for a long time before allowing me to even try and quit the program.

What PhpStorm version do you run?
When exactly PhpStorm crash or freeze?
Are you able to reproduce it?
Did you install any custom plugins? Did you try disabling them?
Same happens for my everyday on Macbook Pro 2017.
Version is 2018.1.4.
It happens spontaneously, without any reason, I can even use different application.
When freeze finishes, I see that PHPStorm is still not responding and have to do Force Quit. But most of the time the whole system freezes, so I have to do hard reboot by long pressing power button.
I do use custom plugins, I will try to disable them and see what happens.
It happens everyday. Every hour! I can no longer use phpStorm. This started happening in latest update a few weeks ago.
Version: 2018.1.4
Why:
no reason, just crashed while writing javascript.
Yesterday it crashed while writing php.
Whole system freezes and I cannot do anything except wait till I can try and force quit. Usually, its faster to hold down the power button and restart the computer.
Please help.
The only plugins I had in custom were material theme, some live editing one, and color IDE.
I'll disable all but material and see what happens...
Please keep us posted on the results.
If it's still bad, we'd definitely like to inspect the logs bundle (Help | Compress and Show Logs).

Where do i post the logs? here?
Either upload them somewhere we can get em (onedrive, google drive) or via Help > New Support Request, or to our FTP server listed in the end of an article
The past week or two, same issue -- phpstorm or webstorm -- any type of project -- whole system freezes - then eventually i have to force quit in activity monitor. After 4-5 hours of work. out of the blue -- spinning wheel of death. I'll look into created a support request but if anyone gets any response/resolution in the meantime, please post back here. (lastest 2018.1.4 version of all jetbrains -- macosx 10.13.5 on late 2017 mac)
Best would be to contact support via WebStorm/PhpStorm > Help > New Support Request and provide the team with all the information directly.
So far it seems it might be the material theme plugin. I disabled it. Haven't coded much today so I will let you know soon!
I think I was wrong about the Markdown plugin, the issue seems to be a platform one: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-191859
2018.1.5 will be available in a couple of hours, it should solve the issue.
