correct way to install kivy-garden packages

I'm trying to install a kivy-garden package to my pycharm project and can't get through, just following the instruccions from tho official doc 'garden install knob' from the pycharm terminal window and everything looks fine.
Done! garden.knob is installed at
$HOME/.kivy/garden/garden.knob'
what am doing wrong?
should i install garden packages in some other way?
