Awful color changes with 2019.x

Greetings, all!

While my problem is not a "My Life Depends Upon Fixing This" type of problem, it has made my want to gouge my eyes out. :)

When I upgraded to Webstorm 2019.2, my Material Oceanic theme seemed to change to present the "node_modules" directory entry in the worse possible color combination:

This same background appears no matter what theme I choose.

All plugins, including Material Theme, are up to date.

I have 2019.2, Build #WS-192.5728.87

My question is: How can I change the background color? I've looked through the File | Settings, but with so many options I believe I missed it.

UPDATE: I turned off the Material Theme plugin, and the bar is still there on the node_modules library root, albeit a little less glaring. That would tell me the problem is not with the Material Theme.

Thanks.

Hi there,

In general such colors are configured at "Settings (Preferences on macOS) | Appearance & Behavior | File Colors" -- you can either change the color there, remove unwanted entry or disable the whole thing altogether.

FYI (just in case): just disabling that plugin is not enough, a restart is required + re-selecting another GUI theme (just in case; my personal suggestion).

Thanks for the reply. The solution was indeed the "Settings | Appearance & Behavior | File Colors". I saw that option in my investigation, but the wording used led me to believe it was for text only, and not for the background color.

Deselecting "Use in Project View" did the trick.
