Find usages automatically searching for usages of the base class

I just upgraded to intellij 2019.2 and the find usages automatically includes the base class when searching for method usages.

For a big project this quickly become problematic as it makes the find usages option basically useless, the old search used to ask if you want to include it first and then proceed however you have chosen.

On the new version you have to use ctrl+shift+alt+f7 and then go through another dialogue popup to get the same functionality, is there a broader picture I'm missing here?
