CSV file export freezing

已回答

I am trying to export a small result set to a CSV file. When I click Dump Data, I get the Save File dialog. When I click Save, the dialog disappears and DataGrip stops responding to input. It doesn't freeze, but whenever I click inside the application it simply rejects the click and gives a system beep.

I'm on DataGrip 2019.2 on macOS Catalina. Can anyone help me out and maybe figure out if there's a setting I'm missing?

The issue is fixed in DataGrip 2019.2.6.

Thank you for patience.

I have same problem, too.

I have the same problem. I also have an issue when I minimise and then restore, the UI never reappears. If I force quit, keyboard response stops until I restart my machine. I tried giving the application full disk access (i.e. to support the new Catalina file system changes) but that wasn't successful.

I tried the same thing as Alex w/r/t giving full disk access but it didn't work either. I don't have the same issue as far as keyboard response stopping, but I still have to force quit the app to be able to restart it and use it again.

Exactly the same problem here. DataGrip 2019.2 and macOS Catalina.

Could you go to Registry and disable ide.mac.file.chooser.native property?

It looks similar with https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-1794

You can access Registry via Find action (cmd+shift+a)

Vasily, I made that change but unfortunately it didn't help. The behavior persists. I should also note that the CSV file doesn't ever get created either.

This issue isn't the same as the issue you linked; for me the file chooser comes up and it works just fine, it's only after closing it with "Save" that the application stops working.

I'm having exactly the same behaviour as raised above. macOS Catalina data grip 2019.2 Paying for a tool, now have to use other tools to save data to a csv.

2

I'm having the same exact problem since the last update.

I am having the same issue. In fact, it is not just csv dump but any data dump (regardless of the data size, some data is very few records), the IDE stops responding.

macOS Catalina.

Could you email me vasily.chernov@jetbrains.com zipped IDE logs folder?

Vasily, I emailed you my logs a moment ago. Let me know if you make a ticket for this one.

Same issue here.

Thought FULL DISK access would be the fix. to no avail.

Having to use other apps for exports in the interim here, so not a huge deal.

Big fan of DataGrip though, so I hope a fix is in the works.

will follow thread.

Downgrade to 2.4 and it works

2

Yeah, I mean I hear ya but that will require... downgrading, which I don't wanna do.

1

Have the same issue with it freezing when I try to export to a csv. Would love to know a fix for this rather than downgrading versions.

2

@MIHAI VINAGA downgrading to 2019.2.4 fixed it for my co-worker

1

Downgrading to 2019.2.4 fixed it for me too ;-)

2

Upgrading to 2019.3 EAP fixed it for me

Same here. DataGrip 2019.2, macOS Catalina. What the fudge.

This is happening for me as well still. DataGrip 2019.2.5, macOS Catalina. Any attempt to download CSV causes the program to no longer respond as if a dialogue box is open when there is none.

DataGrip EAP 2019.3 fixed it

same problem, both in idea ide 2019.2 and datagrip 2019.2.5, waiting for upgrade.

confirmed in IDEA 2019.2.3 on catalina

Same here. One thing I noticed is that I don't think I got a permissions prompt like other apps, like "application X wants to access your documents folder" - maybe it's hanging there?

Same issue, latest stable version on catalina.

Same issue, Pycharm 2019.2.3 on catalina.

Same, on Intellij and pycharm 2019.2.3 on Catalina.  Definitely broken.

Same issue, PHPStorm 2019.2.3 and Goland 2019.2.3 on catalina.
